Easy Lunch Idea

I eat the same foods that I recommend to my fertility patients.

Why?

Because the foods that promote fertility also are excellent for overall health.

But I don't have time to do fancy meals.  So I'm on a mission to simplify my meals.  

Here's an easy lunch idea that I pack for myself and my kids all the time...

And yes, it's fertility friendly...

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 pasture-raised eggs any way you like them, sprinkled with sea salt
  • 1 organic avocado
  • Any non-cruciferous organic, raw vegetable you like e.g. tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, etc.

Note that I don't have any carbs in this meal since I recommend limiting your carb intake to your dinner.  Carbs have a sedative effect so take advantage of that by eating it at night.  That will help prevent the post-lunch drowsiness. 

If you like your eggs scrambled, over-easy, or fried - cook them in grass-fed butter, ghee, or coconut oil.  Eat the yolk!  That's where most of the nutrients are.  Keep the yolk as runny as possible to preserve the nutrients.  

Tip: Cut the avocado right before you're ready to eat it so that it doesn't brown.  Keep the pit in the avocado to prevent browning.
