Feed the Good Wolf in You

A parable:

“A grandfather is talking with his grandson and he says there are two wolves inside of us which are always at war with each other.

One is a good wolf which represents things like kindness, bravery, and love. The other is a bad wolf, which represents things like greed, hatred, and fear.

The grandson stops and thinks about it for a second then he looks up at his grandfather and says, ‘Grandfather, which one wins?’

The grandfather quietly replies, ‘The one you feed.’”

As girls growing up, we're taught our entire lives how to avoid pregnancy.

I've already started these discussions with my 12yo daughter.  AWKWARD!

Yet, for many, the irony now is that no matter how hard you try, you can't get your heart's desire.

Motherhood.

Something that you took for granted.  You thought it would be there when you're ready.  No one warned you otherwise.

As women, that's what we're born to do.

Create, nurture, and support life.  Have a baby.

So if we're unable to meet our biological imperative, who are we then?

i propose that you are exactly where you should be.

By way of your actions, choices, thoughts, and words, your life has taken you here.

Who are you meant to be?

Pause for however long you need.  A minute, hour, day, week, month, year.

Is the creation of a human baby all that you're capable of ?

Can a baby mean something more?  Maybe it's the birth of a new business, different career, or an upgraded you.

To focus on what you're missing creates doubt, fear, anxiety, depression, self-hatred, and inadequacy.  It's easy to lose yourself in these negative emotions.

On the other hand, it takes conscious thought, awareness, and appropriate actions, to lift yourself to a place of love, forgiveness, and generosity.  Much more difficult in comparison.

To expand yourself beyondthe narrow, literal definition of motherhood may be your challenge at this very moment.

Yet, you have so much to offer beyond your ovaries and uterus.

You have the greatest things in the world - your spirit and your brain.

Don't give up on your dream.  Rather, make your dreams bigger.

So you have more space to step into your power.  You have more room for error when you have bigger dreams.
