It's all too easy to get diverted from your commitment to eating well. Business lunches/dinners, having a quick drink with friends/co-workers, not packing a lunch, don't feel like making dinner.
Life happens. But there are still ways to keep your promise to take care of yourself.
Here are a few tips for eating healthier when you're at a restaurant.
Forego the alcohol. That's going to be a killer on your waistline, liver, and blood sugar levels.
Drink water or herbal tea (mint, chamomile, ginger, rooibos) instead. Meh - not as exciting as your cocktail or wine. Buuut remember what your priority is. A fertile body or a night of gluttony?
Start with a salad to curb your appetite.
Eliminate or reduce the carbs.
- Have a protein entree with veggies.
- Eat that burger without the bun or have it lettuce wrapped.
- Don't order the pasta.
- Skip the bread or chips appetizer. Have the server remove it if it's too tempting.
And I know you didn't look at the dessert menu cuz that's off limits.
Most importantly, enjoy the people you're with. Participate in the conversation. This will naturally slow down your eating. It takes a few minutes for your brain to get the message from your stomach that you're full. Scarfing down food without taking a breath causes you to eat more than you actually need to satisfy your hunger.
If you stick to these suggestions, you don't even have to worry about portion size cuz your hunger will guide you.
Follow these guidelines when eating out to stay on your fertility path.
Consistently making the right decisions will keep you moving towards success.
