At What Age Did My Oldest Patient Get Pregnant? Find Out Now...

I bumped into a former patient yesterday.  (Shout out to her.  "You look fantastic!"  Forgot to tell you because I was so excited to see you.)

I've mentioned her before.

She is the oldest patient I've worked with who has been able to get pregnant.

At the age of 47 years old!

Ironically enough, naturally.  After failed IVF cycles.

And gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 48yo.

Lesson #1 - Don't give up!
If you want it badly enough, put in the work.  One step at a time.  It took her years of acupuncture treatment before she got pregnant.  Focus on being the best version of yourself.  Don't define your identity by your diagnosis and your ability to procreate.

Eh - that was a lot of lessons.  I've expanded on them in various emails and will continue to talk about them because y'all need reminders.

Lesson #2 - Nurture the connection with your partner.
We talked about how having a baby changes the dynamics of your relationship. Your responsibilities are no longer towards each other only.  The baby has to come first for a period of time.

If you allow the stress of trying to get pregnant crack your relationship, the additional pressure when the baby does come can be too much.

I've seen this way too many times in my patients to count so trust me on this.  No matter how great you think your relationship is now, it can always be better.

Lesson #3 - Self-care
You can't do lesson #2 if you neglect yourself.  You have to make yourself a priority because no one else will.  Hanging with the girlz, massage, girlz trip, whatever floats your girlie boat... Do it!

That's all I've got today.

Until tomorrow...
