Doing the Right Thing Can Be So Wrong

All the grocery stores nowadays have disinfecting wipes at the door so you can wipe down your shopping cart handle.

Those cute little bottles of hand sanitizer are everywhere.

You're being proactive.  Protecting your health.

Or are you?

Triclosan, the active ingredient in most antibacterial products, has been shown to kill human cells.

It is also thought to disrupt hormone balance by making thyroid hormone more potent and speeding up their impact.  That will have a direct effect on your fertility.

Plain soap and water is the best way to keep your hands clean.

NOT antibacterial soap which might have triclosan as well.

Don't be obsessive about it.  A little bacteria actually helps to strengthen your immune system.  Harken back to the days when kids played in the dirt, making them more robust.

There are lots of natural options.  Just make sure you read the ingredients and know what they are.
