I got served humble pie

When I flew to SF earlier this month, a friend dropped me off at the airport on his way to work.  Since I was working around his schedule, I arrived 2 hours before departure time.  No biggie.  Instead of working from home, I'd just do my usual morning online routine from the airport.

Except as I stood in front of the security checkpoint to pull out my boarding pass and ID,...

I forgot my ID!

I had left it in my everyday wallet in my everyday purse.

Ladies, you know what I'm talking about.  That's why I don't switch purses cuz inevitably I forget something.

This time it was my ID.

Fortunately, I had the time to take an Uber home 30 minutes away and back.  Phew!

I'm pretty sure I know why I forgot it.

I'm never that early to the airport.  I like to time it just so to avoid long waits at the gate.

But this time, I got all sorts of arrogant thinking I was all that cuz I'm so early.  So my mind got lazy and got served some humble pie.

I didn't do my usual mental rundown of the essentials.  Boarding pass, ID, cash, credit card (still forgot that the 2nd time :/ ).

I got complacent, thinking that since I've done this routine so many times before, I'll remember everything.

It's that lack of attention to detail that can often derail us and set us back.

We get lazy and complacent.

As you travel your fertility journey, be mindful of your environment, especially your thoughts.

Develop the discipline to train your mind to stay present with an eye to the future.  Don't get bogged down by the disappointments of the past.

Shyt happens.  Scoop up the poop and continue your journey.

Building forward momentum is the most important thing you can do.

And you do that with small, daily actions which will result in huge gains over time.

Surprisingly enough, if you keep moving forward, you'll get little bursts of joy like presents placed at your feet to reward you cuz you just kept on walking.

And eventually you start wondering what unexpected lovely surprise is around the corner waiting for you.
