I remember...

September 11, 2001 is a day we will never forget.

That was the day when we all realized the threat Muslim extremists are to Western ideals of democracy.

The Cold War had only ended 10 years earlier in 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed, after 44 years of geopolitical tension.

Now another war started.

As we become more connected online, the viral spread of hate messages fans the dissatisfaction inherent in many.

This hate towards others is merely a reflection of the loathing within ourselves.

If we were truly happy with who we are as individuals, there would be no need to judge others and condemn them for their ideology.

Our focus must turn inwards at times to address our own fears, doubts, and insecurities that arise from our past.

The past is to be remembered.  The disappointments and heartaches of failed fertility treatments and periods that came and went are hard to forget.  But they should not be lost to the present.  Because you will forfeit your future in doing so.

Instead, continue to move forward with hope and faith that if you live your best life now, happiness is right around the corner.

Only then can we be in relationships where we are fully present and able to love our partners.  And from that love of self and others can another new love be birthed.
