It's time to give out some money!

It's Chinese New Year's today.

Even though I was born outside the US and my first language is Chinese, I'm a pseudo-Chinese.  Chinese-lite.  I have no clue as to what the many CNY customs and rituals are.

Except for the "hong bao" or red envelope stuffed with cash adults give to kids during this time.

The importance of the hong bao isn’t the cash inside; it’s actually the envelope itself. The red color symbolizes good luck and prosperity in Chinese cultures.

In China of many moons past, the elderly would thread coins with a red string. The money was referred to as "money warding off evil spirits" (ya sui qian) and was believed to protect the younger person from sickness and death.  The yasui qian was replaced by red envelopes when printing presses became more common.

Frankly, methinks we should forego giving kids presents and just give them cash so they can manage their own money.   Works like a charm with my kids - they hardly ever ask for anything cuz they know I'll say "Do you have the money for it?".  AND when my 9yo wants something but doesn't have her money with her at the moment, she says "I'll pay you back."  BOOM!  You're welcome, parents.

My goal for them is to get things that are important to them over the long-term, not just the bright shiny object of the moment.

And so it is with you...

Lots of distractions to derail you from your vision... to have a healthy child.

The amount of focus and willpower it takes to stay on your fertility journey and not get sidetracked is a true testament to your emotional strength and resilience.

You will be tested time and again by naysayers, doubters, and others peddling their wares (hmm, I guess I'm in that category).

But no worries...

My Fertility Top10 is a follow-the-dots program designed to keep you focused on your mission... to improve your fertility naturally.

Yes, even if you're over 40, diagnosed with poor egg quality, low AMH, high FSH, diminished ovarian reserve, had multiple failed IVF cycles or more than 2 consecutive miscarriages.

Off I go now to prepare my kids' hong bao.  Gotta get some crisp $20 bills cuz the wrinkly ones are taboo.
