Is this your Achilles' Heel when TTC?

In 1979 a large passenger jet with 257 people left New Zealand for a sightseeing flight to Antarctica and back.  Somehow the flight coordinates had been changed by 2 degrees.  Unaware of this, the pilots continued on this path which placed them 28 miles east of where they thought they were.  As they approached Antarctica, the pilots descended to a lower altitude to give the passengers a better look at the landscape. Although both were experienced pilots, neither had made this particular flight before, and they didn't know that the incorrect coordinates had placed them directly in the path of Mount Erebus, a volcano of more than 12,000 feet.

The white of the snow and ice covering the volcano blended with the white of the clouds above, making it appear as though they were flying over flat ground. By the time the instruments sounded the warning that the ground was rising fast toward them, it was too late. The airplane crashed into the side of the volcano, killing everyone on board.

It was a terrible tragedy brought on by a minor error of only 2 degrees.

Through years of helping women get pregnant, the difference between success and giving up often comes down to an error of only a few degrees.

The real secret to success when you're trying to get pregnant is to know that you must make continual course corrections.  Just as a plane faces headwinds, weather fronts, and unexpected turbulence,  you have experienced the same on your fertility journey.

Be vigilant about keeping your goal clear so you stay focused but be flexible about how you get there.  This is the Achilles' Heel in many women when trying to get pregnant.  The story they tell themselves about how they're going to get pregnant is so entrenched in them that they stay too long on a dead-end route.  Rather,  keep your ears, eyes, and mind open to new ideas so you can make minor (or major) course corrections along the way.

Most of all, resolve in advance that you will not give up.  Persistence in the face of adversity is what ultimately leads you to success.
