Keep your $100 where the sun don't shine...until you really need it

Delusional me thought I would be able to get some daily emails out this week.  But alas, raging until well past midnight for 4 days straight in Hawaii took its toll.  It was worth it though cuz my brother had the best wedding.  Ever.

So I'm baaaccckkk...

A few days before I left for Hawaii, my dog had something going on with his foot.  It was swollen and he wouldn't stop licking it.  As a worried first-time fur baby owner, I took him to the vet.  $100 later, I was told to rub some ointment on it and put a cone on his head so he wouldn't lick it.  Diagnosis?  A scrape.  A cut.  Are you kidding me?!?

Anyhoo, when people ask me why I do what I do...namely help women get pregnant, my usual answers are ...

  • I like helping people.  (I do.)
  • I want to make a difference.  (I am.)
  • I love learning.  Specifically how to make my body do better.

And it's that last reason that drives me.  That keeps me in front of a computer, scouring study after study (most are usually really boring reading), other scientific literature, medical sites, some highly doubtful sources of info that's gone viral.

Cuz at the end of the day, I'm not paying $100 to be told it's a scrape.  Or more likely as I age, hand my life over to people who spend a few minutes with me once a year at an annual physical.  Though they have the right pedigree of MD, they're not going to be my only source of medical info.  I'll take their advice into consideration but I'll do what's ultimately best for me.

I'm doing this for power.

The power to direct my body to do what I want it to do.  Not be subject to taking a bunch of medications every day.  Not getting anxious when slapped with a scary diagnosis (been there, done that).

And this vast (if I do say so myself) knowledge that I amass every day to selfishly improve my own life?

Well, it's for you as well to jump start your fertility strategy and shoot that arrow straight into the bull's eye.  They apply to you as someone who's dealing with poor egg quality, low ovarian reserve, or failed IVF cycles just as much as to someone like me who wants to age with vitality and plenty of juice.
