Every month is likely an emotional roller coaster for you.
You start out hopeful that THIS month will be the month you get pregnant. Then the devastation of seeing your period swallows you.
This extreme emotional cycling is exhausting. And you want to give up because what's the point?
The point is to hold steady and continue trying to get pregnant because you're still fertile until you stop ovulating.
But how do you do maintain hope against what seems like impossible odds?
The next fertility tip is about how to manage such extreme highs and lows.
Fertility Tip #3 - change what you can and let the rest go.
Understand that getting pregnant is an outcome which is partially out of your control. Yes, you can influence and improve the chances of conception but you can't control it 100%.
Instead, focus on habits you CAN control that will get you closer to your goal of a healthy baby.
You already know there are things you can do to be healthier...
- Eat better
- Exercise more
- Drink less
- Stop smoking
- Manage stress
These are all things 100% within your ability to change.
You don't need to transform all your habits overnight.
Rather choose one harmful routine that you can erase or improve most easily. Get that under control. The feeling of accomplishment will motivate you to the next habit.
Building momentum with small wins consistently is key to moving forward on your fertility journey.
As you make positive changes, look for health markers like...
- better menstrual cycles i.e. less PMS, heavier flow, more fertile cervical mucus
- increased energy
- better sleep
- improved mental clarity
- stable moods
They will tell you if you're on the right track to optimal health for pregnancy.
