Fertility Tip #7 - this strategy is key to your success

Improving your fertility in your late 30s or 40s is a part-time job.

Accept it.

Grumbling about how much time and effort it takes won't change that fact.

The brutal truth is what got you to this point isn't working.  If you were going to get pregnant, you would have by now.

So you need to make drastic changes in your approach to getting pregnant.

Stop glaring at your screen...don't shoot the messenger!  Embrace the message instead.

Fertility tip #7 - Create a plan.  One that you implement every day without fail.  No matter how you feel.

The key is to start small to gain momentum.

It's about establishing a healthy routine.

So that it's as mindless as brushing your teeth, flossing, making your bed in the morning (you do, don't you?).

Every day you should do something for your physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

ALL 3 AREAS.

  • Physical health includes exercise.  It can be as short as 5 minutes.  Walking is fine if that'll get you moving.  For boosting fertility, sprinting is recommended to mobilize the mitochondria (talked about that in yesterday's fertility tip).  Sprints of 15 seconds with 45 seconds rest done for 6 cycles is an excellent start.
  • Eat the right foods.  Start with a fertility friendly breakfast everyday.  That means no carbs (talked about that in yesterday's tip as well).  So at least if you completely slip the rest of the day, you got something good in.  Again, start simple.  Like eggs.  Pre-cooked and peeled soft-boiled eggs that you can grab out of the refrigerator.  Doesn't get much easier than that.
  • Emotional health - journal (as long or short as you want - it's the daily practice of it that's important because over time, it'll get easier), talk with a friend (preferably a woman so you can emote - men feel helpless when they can't solve a problem so they're not always the best to turn to)
  • Spiritual health - prayer, gratitude exercise, visualization, meditation, walking meditation is a two-fer

Intuitively, you already know that improving your overall health is important for fertility.

Knowing and doing are 2 different things.

So create a routine that grounds you, especially when you're in the dumps.  Trust me on this.

Just do it.

Get your pen and paper out now and jot down some things you can start doing today.
