Small changes for big rewards

My kids are gone for 3 weeks visiting their relatives in Denmark.  

It's the 5th summer abroad for my 13 yo and the 1st for my 9yo.  Sometimes their dad is able to travel with them, like this year.  Some years my older one needed to travel by herself.

My friend asks incredulously, "Won't you miss them?!?"

Sure, I'll miss them.  But I won't MISS, MISS them.  Cuz they're coming back.  And mama loves her alone time.  :)

Rather than keep them close to the nest, it's more important to me that they foster deeper relationships with their family abroad, spread their wings, and have new experiences.  

To take advantage of the incredible opportunities that come their way.  

To live life without regret.  

That means doing things that will make them uncomfortable or even outright scared in the beginning.  But rarely have they ever regretted it.  In fact, almost without fail, they've enjoyed it so much they end up asking for more.

Just as change is hard for them, it can be for you as well.

Making the lifestyle adjustments to improve your fertility naturally will be awkward at first.  But as you get comfortable with it, it'll be second nature. 

It's like wearing a new pair of shoes.  You gotta break them in until they're comfortable enough to be part of your regular rotation.  Otherwise, they stay in the corner, collecting dust.

Any change in routine takes time.

Start small and build from there.

Small things like:

  • Eat a better breakfast.  
  • Swap out your sodas for water.
  • Go to bed 15 minutes earlier.
  • Work out for 10 minutes.
  • Arrange a date night this week with your partner.

The cumulative effect of the daily, consistent actions are what you're going for. 

Because over time, your overall health will improve.  And your fertility will follow.
